As of April 22, 2010: Any contractor who does renovation, repair or painting for compensation in pre-1978 housing or in pre-1978 elementary schools, day cares, pre-schools and any other facility where a child under 6 spends 60 hours per year, if the work will disturb 6 sq. ft. of painted surface in any room or 20 sq. ft. of exterior paint, or does any window replacement or any demolition must comply.

Chem Scope Inc. 8 Moulthrop Street, North Haven, CT, United StatesApplicants shall hold either an associate's or a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in engineering, architecture, industrial hygiene or an environmental science degree as determined by the commissioner to be closely related, including but not limited to environmental health, biology, and earth science. Applicants shall have a minimum of one year experience in asbestos abatement, including experience in asbestos abatement project monitoring or six months field experience under the supervision of a licensed asbestos consultant certified as a project monitor. Applicants shall have successfully completed the training requirements as set forth in subdivision 20-440-7(c)(7) of the regulations of Connecticut State Agencies.

24-Hour In-Person Asbestos Inspector Initial, August 31 – September 2, 2026

The inspector training course includes lectures, demonstrations, at least four hours of hands-on training, and a written examination.
