DESCRIPTION:2Day Class: Monday\, July 22nd & Tuesday\, July 23rd\, 2024 \nCost: $550 \nAsbestos Management Planner courses offered at Chem Scope are CT DPH approved and meet EPA’s AHERA Model Accreditation Plan (MAP) requirements. Students who successfully complete the initial course become EPA Accredited and are eligible for licensing in CT and the CONES states (Consortium of New England States). \nCT Department of Public Health Public Health Code 20-440 Asbestos Management Planner Scope of Certification: Authorizes a licensed asbestos consultant to utilize information developed from facility inspections to assess potential hazards of ACM; to develop abatement response actions\, operations and maintenance plans; to select and recommend abatement actions; and\, to perform duties within the scope of certification as an inspector. \nQualifications: Applicants shall hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in engineering\, architecture\, industrial hygiene or an environmental science degree as determined by the commissioner to be closely related\, including but not limited to environmental health\, biology\, and earth science. Applicants shall have a minimum of six months experience in asbestos abatement\, including experience in asbestos management or three months of field experience under the supervision of a licensed asbestos consultant certified as a management planner. Applicants shall have successfully completed training requirements as set forth in subdivision 20-440-7(c)(5) of the regulations of Connecticut State Agencies and be certified as an Asbestos Inspector. \nDPH APPROVED ASBESTOS MANAGEMENT PLANNER INITIAL COURSE: This is a 2 day initial course. The initial management planner training course includes lectures\, demonstrations\, course- review and a written examination. Prerequisite is the 3 day Inspector course. Regulations do not stipulate a time limit between the dates of the inspector training and the management planner course. Refresher courses are required annually to maintain certification. Individuals who go more than 2 years between inspector/management planner training classes must take the full length initial classes again to be licensed again by the state of CT. \n\nCOVID-19\nPersons with symptoms of or a current positive test for COVID-19 may not enter the Chem Scope\, Inc. training center. \n \nOur training center policy is to follow the current CDC guidance found at cdc.gov/coronavirus along with any state or local guidance applicable to in-person training sessions.\nCancellation policy\nClass sizes are restricted. In order to provide training to people on waiting lists\, we require at least 1 business day (24 hour) notification that a student will not attend a class. Except in the case of emergencies or illness\, including COVID-19 symptoms\, quarantine\, or diagnosis\, we reserve the right to… \n\nIn the case of same-day cancellation for refresher training classes\, refuse refund and retain 100% of the price of each ticket purchased but not used by the registered party. In this case\, students will have to purchase a new ticket to attend a refresher on a different date and cannot transfer their ticket fee.\nIn the case of same-day cancellation for initial training classes\, retain a non-refundable fee equal to 50% of the price of each ticket purchased but not used by the registered party.

DESCRIPTION:2Day Class: Wednesday-July 24th and Thursday\, July 25th\, 2024\,  8am-5pm. \nCost: $600 \nPrerequisite: 24-hour Lead Inspector Course from a CT DPH approved training provider. \nLEAD RISK ASSESSOR DESCRIPTION:\nLead Risk Assessor courses offered at Chem Scope are CT DPH Approved under 20-478 and are also EPA Accredited under EPA CFR 40 745.226. Training may be accepted in other states. Check with individual states for any new requirements and added requirements for licensing or certification. Students who successfully complete the initial course become eligible to be certified by DPH in the discipline. They have to meet State requirements\, submit a fee and an application. \nAnnual state licensing is required for private industry lead inspector-risk assessors and lead consultant companies in most states.
