DESCRIPTION:Five Day Class:  \n\nWednesday-May 22nd\, Thursday-May 23rd\, Friday-May 24th\, Tuesday-May 28th and Wednesday-May 29th\, 2024\n\nCost: $825 \nGeneral Description: Asbestos Project Monitor courses offered at Chem Scope are CT DPH Approved and meet MAP requirements of AHERA\, ASHARA\, NESHAP\, CONES and OSHA. Students who successfully complete the initial course become EPA Accredited in the particular discipline and are eligible for licensing in CT and the CONES states. \nScope of Certification: Certification as a project monitor authorizes a licensed asbestos consultant to function in the capacity of on-site representative of the facility owner or other persons\, interpret project specifications or abatement management plans\, monitor and evaluate contractor or employee compliance with applicable regulations or specifications and ensure that abatement projects are properly conducted and completed. The project monitor shall not also function as the asbestos contractor or as an employee of the asbestos contractor on the same asbestos abatement project for which he is the project monitor. \nQualifications: Applicants shall hold either an associate’s or a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in engineering\, architecture\, industrial hygiene or an environmental science degree as determined by the commissioner to be closely related\, including but not limited to environmental health\, biology\, and earth science. Applicants shall have a minimum of one year experience in asbestos abatement\, including experience in asbestos abatement project monitoring or six months field experience under the supervision of a licensed asbestos consultant certified as a project monitor. Applicants shall have successfully completed the training requirements as set forth in subdivision 20-440-7(c)(7) of the regulations of Connecticut State Agencies. \nCOVID-19 \nChem Scope\, Inc. updates its COVID-19 safety protocol regularly to comply with the current state and federal guidance. By attending class during the COVID-19 pandemic\, students agree to follow current local and federal regulations and Chem Scope\, Inc. safety protocols. Training center occupants will not be required to show proof of vaccination at this time. Where the CDC describes COVID-19 community levels as high\, training center occupants shall wear a non-cloth face covering over the mouth and nose while in a room indoors with other occupants. Where CDC describes COVID-19 levels as low or medium\, face coverings are optional unless local rules or organizational policies require them. Masks will be provided to those who would like them. \nWhen community levels are high\, acceptable face coverings include surgical masks\, N95 respirators\, and KN95 respirators. We will provide acceptable masks on site for those who forget a face covering\, but those who use their own respirator or a face-covering/respirator provided by Chem Scope\, Inc. do so voluntarily and at their own risk. In order to provide training to people on waiting lists\, we require at least 1 business day (24 hour) notification that a student will not attend a class. In this case\, students will have to purchase a new ticket to attend a refresher on a different date and cannot transfer their ticket fee.\nIn the case of same-day cancellation for initial training classes\, retain a non-refundable fee equal to 50% of the price of each ticket purchased but not used by the registered party.

DESCRIPTION:Cost: $600 \nPrerequisite: 24-hour lead inspector course from a CT DPH approved training provider. \nLEAD RISK ASSESSOR DESCRIPTION:\nLead Risk Assessor courses offered at Chem Scope are CT DPH Approved under 20-478 and are also EPA Accredited under EPA CFR 40 745.226. Training may be accepted in other states. Check with individual states for any new requirements and added requirements for licensing or certification. Students who successfully complete the initial course become eligible to be certified by DPH in the discipline. They have to meet State requirements\, submit a fee and an application. \nAnnual state licensing is required for private industry lead inspector-risk assessors and lead consultant companies in most states.
