DESCRIPTION:Five Day Class: May 18/19/21/22/26\, 2026 (Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri/Tue) \nCost: $825 \nGeneral Description: Asbestos Project Monitor courses offered at Chem Scope are CT DPH Approved and meet MAP requirements of AHERA\, ASHARA\, NESHAP\, CONES and OSHA. Students who successfully complete the initial course become EPA Accredited in the particular discipline and are eligible for licensing in CT and the CONES states. \nScope of Certification: Certification as a project monitor authorizes a licensed asbestos consultant to function in the capacity of on-site representative of the facility owner or other persons\, interpret project specifications or abatement management plans\, monitor and evaluate contractor or employee compliance with applicable regulations or specifications and ensure that abatement projects are properly conducted and completed. The project monitor shall not also function as the asbestos contractor or as an employee of the asbestos contractor on the same asbestos abatement project for which he is the project monitor. \nQualifications: Applicants shall hold either an associate’s or a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in engineering\, architecture\, industrial hygiene or an environmental science degree as determined by the commissioner to be closely related\, including but not limited to environmental health\, biology\, and earth science. Applicants shall have a minimum of one year experience in asbestos abatement\, including experience in asbestos abatement project monitoring or six months field experience under the supervision of a licensed asbestos consultant certified as a project monitor. Applicants shall have successfully completed the training requirements as set forth in subdivision 20-440-7(c)(7) of the regulations of Connecticut State Agencies. \nCancellation policy \n\nClass sizes are restricted. In order to provide training to people on waiting lists\, we require at least 1 business day (24 hour) notification that a student will not attend a class. Except in the case of emergencies or illness\, including illness symptoms\, quarantine\, or diagnosis\, we reserve the right to… \n\nIn the case of same-day cancellation for refresher training classes\, refuse refund and retain 100% of the price of each ticket purchased but not used by the registered party. In this case\, students will have to purchase a new ticket to attend a refresher on a different date and cannot transfer their ticket fee.\nIn the case of same-day cancellation for initial training classes\, retain a non-refundable fee equal to 50% of the price of each ticket purchased but not used by the registered party.

SUMMARY:8-Hour Virtual Asbestos Supervisor Refresher
DESCRIPTION:Cost: $180 \nDPH APPROVED ASBESTOS REFRESHER COURSE: \nApplies to interior asbestos work and friable exterior asbestos work. Required for maintaining EPA accreditation and State DPH license for anyone supervising disturbance of > 3 square or 3 linear feet of asbestos. \nGeneral Description: \nAsbestos Contractor/Supervisor courses offered at Chem Scope are CT DPH approved and meet MAP requirements of AHERA\, ASHARA\, NESHAP\, CONES and OSHA.  \nRefresher training is required annually under typical circumstances. \nIf a student goes passed the last refresher due date by one day\, the student cannot work in the discipline. Failure to take a refresher for 2 years requires the student to take the initial course again.  \nAll refresher courses are separate and distinct courses and cannot combined with any other training during the period of the refresher course. \nRefresher training includes a review and discussion of changes in and interpretation of applicable state and federal laws\, regulations\, policies and guidelines\, developments or changes in state-of-the art procedures and equipment and a review of key areas of initial training specific to each discipline.  \nVerification of accreditation information.\nTraining providers of refresher courses must confirm that their students possess valid accreditation before granting course admission. \nVirtual Training Requirements \nRequirements for attending virtual training include (1) a government-issued photo ID\, (2) a PC or Mac computer\, (3) a stable internet connection\, (4) a functioning webcam\, (5) a functioning keyboard\, and (6) a functioning mouse. Tablets will not be supported. A functional headset with microphone will be recommended. Each student must be able to download and use the most recent version of Zoom. Students must be able to type to participate in worksheet-based online hands-on activities\, or they must be able to print the worksheet\, answer by writing\, and send a picture to the instructor. \nScreenshots will be taken throughout the class to document that each student is present for the entire course. Students must arrive on time to class (typically\, 8:00 am EST). Students are also encouraged to be present in the class 30 to 15 minutes early to allow for troubleshooting. \nMany of our students will be new to virtual training.
