Mold Assessment and Remediation,

Indoor Air Quality Training Course

 

We will offer this new course on June 4 from 8 AM- 4 PM at the Chem Scope Training center at 8 Moulthrop St. , North Haven. The cost is $130 per student.

This is a one day course designed for building professionals including abatement contractors, maintenance staff and building owners or managers. Instructors are Ronald D. Arena, Sr of Chem Scope, Inc, and Earl Thompson of Baron Consulting Co. Ron is an analytical  chemist and Earl is a microbiologist, each with more than 20 years experience with indoor quality or mold issues.

The topics include: proposed IAQ regulations and existing standards; sources of indoor air pollution; substances and factors affecting air quality; ventilation; IAQ management including maintenance; inspection, testing, and assessment; information about mold and other biological materials; the latest EPA guidance on mold remediation; and personal protection for mold remediation.

Those who wish to do mold remediation and have not had other advanced abatement training and experience (asbestos, lead or hazardous waste) will need further training on personal protection. An advanced hands on training class on PPE (personal protective equipment) is available here for those who do not have this prior training and experience. A course certificate will be awarded to those who successfully complete the course and pass an examination.
