DECD GRANT FOR LEAD-SAFE WORK PRACTICES TRAINING

 

 

§         We are conducting several free! one-day training sessions as provided by assistance funds from the State of Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD). There are to be three (3) sessions held at the Chem Scope Training Center at 8 Moulthrop Street, North Haven from 8AM – 4PM as follows:

September 5, 2002

October 3, 2002

November 7, 2002

 

§         Attendees will receive all training materials and lunch. A record of completion is given to those successfully completing the course and a quiz. This completion document authorizes the trainee to perform interim controls described in HUD 24 CFR Part 1330. The purpose of this regulation is to prevent childhood lead poisoning.

 

§         This course was approved by HUD on 5/10/01. This course is required as a minimum for tradesmen doing residential renovation or rehabilitation in any property where Federal funds are involved. This includes public housing and private housing receiving loans or grants. Common applications are for renovations and repairs for municipal Community Development Agencies, Public Housing, and private homes receiving government mortgage help.

 

§         The course was developed by the University of Connecticut in conjunction with the State of Connecticut DPH, US EPA and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
