8 HOUR LEAD AWARENESS FOR CONSTRUCTION AND RESPIRATOR TRAINING The purpose of this course is to Comply with the OSHA Lead Standard 29 CFR 1926.62 and OSHA Respirator Standard 29 CFR 1910.134. Persons taking this course are experienced demolition personnel who need to become aware of the hazards of lead dust, how to protect themselves and about the regulatory requirements for working with lead in construction. These individuals will be prepared to wear respirators. Persons who intend to do lead abatement, must take a longer, and more detailed course. Prerequisite for those who wish to be fit tested is a medical approval form indicating the individual can wear a respirator and the respirator. Individuals must be clean shaven in the area of the respirator seal to the face. The duration of this course is one day. Course presentation includes lectures, demonstrations and hands-on training. The Course includes instruction on: Hazard Recognition Background Information and Health Hazards of Lead Health Monitoring Sources of Environmental Lead Contamination Employee Information and Training Required by OSHA Respiratory Protection including hands on training.
